Increase in National Park and Conservation fees
Recently the government of Nepal and King Mahendra Trust has increased National Park and conservation fees. Previously these were RS. 650 (10 US$) and RS. 1000 (15 US$) respectively. The increase was announced for the date of 22 May. But after negotiation with TAAN (Trekking Agents Association of Nepal) the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation has agreed to implement the increase in conservation fees of RS 2000 from 1st Jan 2001. The increased national park fees were implemented from the date of notice 22 May. The Government has also agreed to a request from TAAN to run an open policy with the amount collected going to local people which should be a great benefit to them.
Permit for Annapurna Conservation Area.
The permit for Annapurna Conservation area used to be available at the entry point. Now it can be obtained in Kathmandu and Pokhara only. Two photos are required. Following is the list of entry fee for the different national parks/conservation areas:
